I’ve been working in various types of collage over the years. The medium I choose to create a piece is based on the message that I’m expressing. My art is an exploration of the way women have been ascribed identity or have developed an identity due to trauma or other worldly afflictions. Most of my art focuses on themes of beauty, confinement, exposure, anger, hidden identity, and gender expectations. Encaustic collage is the medium I use to express the raw emotions. The 2 and 3D collage allow for an expression that relates to hidden awareness and revelation.
